The Speech by Ghafour Makhmouri; General Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic National Union (YNDK)

Dear participants in the International Forum for Peace and Security in the Middle East in Brussels,

Dear representatives of Kurds, Arabs, Ahwaz, Baloch and Caspian,

Dear sisters and brothers,

Dear guests,

A warm regard from Kurdistan to you all,

On behalf of myself, the political bureau, leadership committee and all Kurdistan Democratic National Union YNDK members congratulate you on the conference titled (International Forum on Security and Peace in the Middle East in Brussels). We wish you success with the conference and hope it will contribute significantly to the success of the nation’s case of the area.

Dears,

While the whole world and Middle East is passing by a very critical situation, with ongoing conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict, the threats, and conspiracies against oppressed nations like the Kurds and other oppressed nations are there. These are all affecting Kurdistan and other nations. Many upcoming events are expected.

It's imperative for us to unite, demonstrating our collective strength, to prove our effective role as a strong factor of the area, and actively pursuing our national rights.

We believe that cooperation among oppressed nations is a main factor for our success. Therefore, we all must strive towards our goals.

The Kurdish people have historically been supportive and cooperative with neighboring nations, contributing significantly to the region's civilization.

Collaborative efforts not only deepen and renew our relationships but also propel us towards realizing our collective aspirations.

Dear Guests,

The nations have created empires in the past, the oppressed nations can be a factor for dismantling the empires as seen with the former Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia. Violations of national rights played a crucial role in these empires' downfall, serving as a valuable lesson for many countries today.

We as YNDK believe that establishment of Kurdish state is a key solution for Kurdish state, and the same scenario for other oppressed nations is true. The only solution for Kurdish quest and other oppressed nations in the area is independence and establishment of their state. For this we must support each other.

Sisters and brothers,

The Kurdish people, along with other oppressed nations in the region, have collaborated for many years while facing oppression and persecution. Kurdish people continue to endure oppression and persecution from Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria

The Iraqi government is engaging in marginalization and economic starvation tactics against the Kurdistan region. Additionally, Iraqi militias are attacking the Kurdistan region, with the Iraqi government remaining silent on these actions.

Iran is arresting young Kurds and imprisoning them, leading to executions in eastern Kurdistan. Furthermore, Iran has launched drone attacks on Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region, resulting in several casualties. There have also been bombardments of Kurdish movements in northern Kurdistan, causing injuries and fatalities among Kurdish civilians, including women and children. Resolving the Kurdish issue in eastern Kurdistan would be more effective through dialogue rather than resorting to attacks and bombardments.

The Turkish regime is implementing a brutal policy of killing civilians and destroying cities and villages in southern Kurdistan. They are also targeting Kurdish people in northern and eastern Kurdistan, along with destroying infrastructure in eastern Kurdistan and Kurdish villages along the border.

With its current unstable situation, Syria is not recognizing Kurdish existence. The Kurdish situation in Syria is indeed challenging, with Kurds often deprived of their rights. Additionally, the threat of ISIS continues to loom over Kurdish communities. The Peshmerga forces have played a crucial role in protecting Kurdistan and defeating ISIS, for which we are thankful.

Despite the ongoing attacks and threats from occupier countries, the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan continue to make progress. We remain steadfast in our belief that victory is within reach.

Finally, we honor the efforts of all nations in the region and hold them in high regard. We aspire to leverage regional changes and events to attain our rights. I extend my best wishes for the success of your conference once again and reaffirm our friendly relations, united in our pursuit of legitimate rights.

I wish your conference every success, and I reiterate our commitment to maintaining a friendly relationship as we work towards achieving our legitimate rights.

With best regards

Wish you all the success!
